It is movie time at AWC EAST 2025!
We are delighted to present the extraordinary story of 40,000 teenage girls who volunteered on Canadian farms and helped to win the Second World War. Arriving from different parts of Ontario and Quebec to many locations in Southwestern Ontario, the young women began this challenge with no prior farming experience. Their job: to ensure critical food production during the most perilous period of modern history. We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes recounts the heartwarming story of these magnificent young women, now in their late 90s, bringing back their most cherished memories while reminding us – perhaps for the last time – that service comes in many forms.
Showtime:
Sunday November 23 at 5:00 – 6:00 pm. Entrance into the film presentation is free with your AWC EAST 2025 registration and name tag.

Testimonials
“As a first-time attendee at AWC, this event has inspired me beyond words. I can’t wait to come back.” -Alaina A, Fairview, Alberta
“This conference helped me gain confidence in being my authentic self in an ag sales world that in the past has been mostly dominated by men. I got the honor to meet Iris Meck, someone who I have secretly idolized for years. This just feels like such a right of passage to have gotten any of her time. The Advancing Women’s Conference is a very high point of my career, and I have learned so much. I will take so much forward in my life personally and professionally. And to put the whipped topping on my chai latte I had a huge success professionally on my last day here. I definitely did not write this with dry eyes. Thank you Iris for all you do and thank you for making me and every other woman at this conference feel like we have value to bring into this world. I will never forget this! I am so grateful that Greenway Animal Nutrition Inc. sent me to this conference.” -Danielle R, Roblin, Manitoba

“This experience was exceptional. There were countless lightbulb moments that inspired and excited me to implement in all aspects of my life.
